Tools for Mapping Time

Presentation by Jonathan Wyss at the Boston Public Library (2014)

Local and Family History Lecture Series

As a demonstration of the opportunities that time-based maps can provide, this animation puts in motion the dramatic changes that the neighborhoods around Boston's North Station have undergone since colonial times: from the filling of Mill Pond in the early 19th century and the laying out of the Bulfinch Triangle, to the demolition of the West End and the construction of Government Center in the 1960s.
